If you need some to talk to who is very approachable and non-judgmental, I am the counsellor for you.

I offer a confidential, friendly, relaxed counselling service in south and west Yorkshire.

With seven years experience working with a wide range of clients and issues, I am able to offer a diverse counselling.

Life  be very hard at times; I believe it is for living, not enduring.

 

 

 

 

What is Counselling?

Sometimes talking to a trained professional who is non-judmental and uninvolved with your life, in a safe, confidential environment can be a huge relief as you off load worries and issues.

I work person-centredly and incorporate Mindfulness , Anxiety and Depression reduction counselling techniques in addition to Solution Focussed Therapy into my practice. These will enable you  to develop skills to manage your anxiety and depression so that they do not rule your life.

Solution Focussed Therapy is a model that educates clients by providing the tools for them to achieve their preferred future - to help them achieve what they really want in and with their life.

What do you need to really make you happy and how can you achieve that goal? Solution Focussed Therapy can help you achieve that or at least move towards you ideal goal.

In addition, I also offer couples counselling -  short term or open endedly as required by the couple. I hold a Certficate in Couples Counselling, having trained at Macclesfield Counselling Centre in 2015.

Who am I?

 

I  am an experienced Accredited general counsellor, registered with the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy. I work within the ethical remit of this organisation. The safety and wellbeing of my clients are of the utmost importance in my work with them.

My core values of respect, honesty and fairness are the foundation stones of my work with clients.

I have helped clients to work through a wide range of issues such as low self-esteem, lack of confidence and self worth, anger, anxiety, depression, disability and health problems, bereavement, financial and redundancy worries, stress, difficulties at work, loss of direction in life and many others.

Incorporating Mindfulness Anxiety and Mindfulness Depression Reduction techniques have helped my clients cope with these illnesses.

Mindfulness is an evidence based practice that is based on Budhist meditation. It is a way of being. It trains the mind to live compassionately and non-judgementally in the present moment. There is a huge body of evidence to support that Mindfulness prevents relapses into depression and anxiety.

I also incorporate EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisationand Reprocessing) into my practice. This is excellent for working with trauma ranging from bullying, accidents, rape or any trauma you feel you are stuck with through maybe through experiencing flashbacks or repetitive pictures of the trauma in your mind. EMDR helps the brain to self heal and process trauma that you feel you are carrying around with you. It is a very powerful and liberating therapy.

I see my role as empowering my client to help themselves through their difficulties.

Personally, my counselling skills have enabled me to live a fuller, happier life and I hope to enable my clients do the same.

I also provide supervision for counsellors and those in caring professions.
