Coping Tools & Strategies

 It is important to feel that there is measurable, goal-orientated help involving coping tools and strategies when we are at our lowest ebb and feeling vulnerable.

 

These coping tools can be very simple but effective such as various breathing exercises practiced once, twice or through out the day. Concentrating on breathing helps to calm and gound us.

 

Keeping a diary can be very effective. Diaries can be kept on thoughts and feelings, or a baseline anxiety or stress diary can be very helpful; unrealised patterns of thoughts, feelings and behsaviours can be highlighted by these diaries. Keeping a sleep diary if you are struggling to get a good night's sleep can also be helpful.

 

There are numerous effective coping tools that I can bring into our work to help you: positive imagery and positive thinking techniques, graded relaxation exrecises with positive imagery, developing positive routines in your life are just some of the techniques I can offer you to help you feel better and more in control.
